Explorers Camp

Ages 10-14

Adventure time!

Explorer Camp offers campers who are ready to explore, stay active, and build friendships through a mix of outdoor adventure, local excursions, and classic camp fun. Each week offers a unique blend of experiences that encourage independence, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive camp environment.

Campers enjoy a variety of activities including swimming (weather permitting), hiking local trails, biking, kayaking, and participating in hands-on explorations throughout the Wausau area. Weekly highlights include special outings such as bowling, mini golf, trampoline parks, laser tag, inflatable water parks, and creative workshops. Many weeks also feature late-night camp activities or overnight stays, adding excitement and a sense of adventure.

Explorer Camp balances active days with relaxed time back at camp, giving campers the chance to unwind, connect with friends, and enjoy everything Camp Sturtevant has to offer. Each week begins with a Y Day and wraps up with fun-filled camp activities, creating a memorable summer experience full of discovery, growth, and lasting memories.

Leadership Camp

Ages 13-15

Let’s Go Camping

Leadership Camp provides campers an exciting extension of the traditional camp experience, designed for those ready for more adventure and challenge. Throughout the 3 Leadership Weeks, campers build confidence and friendships while participating in activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and hands-on leadership and survival skill development.

Each week features a unique, action-packed travel experience across Wisconsin. Trips include a mini-week in Minocqua with an overnight stay in the Northwoods, a multi-day camping adventure in Green Bay with a day at Bay Beach Amusement Park, and a Wisconsin Dells trip featuring camping at Devil’s Lake State Park, and a visit to Mount Olympus Water Park and the Wilderness Indoor Fun Park.

Leadership Camp blends outdoor adventure, overnight camping, and exciting attractions with meaningful opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and lasting memories—all while fostering friendships that last well beyond the summer.

Explorers Camp

Week 1: June 8-12

Bowling at Dale's & Campfire

Overnight at Camp Thursday

Campers kick things off with a Y Day, giving them the chance to take advantage of the many opportunities available. The week includes a full day of swimming (weather permitting), followed by an adventure to explore the area with a hike and swim at the Eau Claire Dells, plus a special treat at Briq’s. Campers will also enjoy a special evening event at Dale’s that includes dinner and an overnight stay. The week wraps up with a fun and relaxed day back at camp to unwind and enjoy time together.

Food & Farm Exploration Center

Late Night at Camp Thursday

This week at camp is filled with active adventures and hands-on experiences. Campers kick things off with a day at the Y to get everyone energized. The week includes a refreshing day of swimming (weather permitting), followed by an exploration of local parks and a fun stop at Briq’s. Campers also dive into a Food and Farm experience, then return for a fun late-night event and dinner at camp. The week wraps up with a scenic hike along the Eau Claire River Trail and an exciting afternoon back at camp.

Minocqua Action Packed Mini-Week

Overnight at Bachuber (June 24-26)

Look forward to an action-packed week in Minocqua, WI!  There will be a 3-day, 2-night stay in the Northwoods where our Leadership group will enjoy a round of mini golf, go karting, and bumper boats.  They will also attend a Min-Aqua Bats water ski show during their stay. 

There will be opportunities for campers to swim, hike, relax, and explore the Minocqua area while they build lifelong friendships and lasting memories.

Sawmill Mini Golf

Late Night at Camp Thursday

This action-packed week at camp blends outdoor adventure and community exploration. Campers begin with a Y Day, followed by an adventure filled with swimming (weather permitting) and mini golf at the Sawmill. The week also includes time to explore Sylvan Hill Park, along with a fun stop at Briq’s. The week wraps up with a relaxing day back at camp.

Ignite Softball Double Header

Overnight at Camp Thursday

This week offers a mix of adventure and classic camp experiences. Campers set the tone with a fun and flexible Y Day, followed by time to cool off with swimming (weather permitting). Midweek, the group heads out to explore the greater Wausau area with a scenic hike at Big Eau Pleine and a stop at Briq’s for a sweet treat. The week also includes the excitement of an Ignite softball double header, followed by dinner and an overnight at camp. The week closes with a full day of relaxed, enjoyable activities back at camp.

Bay Beach Green Bay

Camping in Green Bay Overnight (June 14-17)

During this week, Leadership will embark on a 4-day, 3-night stay at a campground in Green Bay, WI.  This week will allow them to swim in Lake Michigan and experience nature in different areas of Wisconsin. 

The highlight of this trip will be a day spent at Bay Beach Amusement Park.  Campers will be able to ride roller coasters and other carnival rides during this exciting day.  During this week, campers will have great summer fun with new friends!

Laser Tag at WOW

Late Night at Camp Thursday

This week at camp is full of outdoor exploration and exciting activities. Campers begin with a Y Day to get everyone moving and engaged. The week includes swimming and water fun (weather permitting), followed by an Explore Wausau adventure with a hike along the Oak Island Trails and a stop at Briq’s. Campers will also enjoy an exciting WOW Laser Tag event and a fun late-night activity. The week wraps up with a day of exciting camp activities and classic summer fun.

Sawmill Trampoline Park

Overnight at Camp Thursday

This week at camp combines adventure, activity, and opportunities to connect with nature and friends. Campers begin with a lively Y Day filled with fun and movement. The week includes time dedicated to swimming, giving campers a chance to cool off and enjoy the water (weather permitting). Campers will also take part in an Explore Wausau adventure at Bluegill Bay Park with a stop at Briq’s for a treat, followed by a visit to Sawmill Jump Park. The week wraps up with a full day of camp activities and fun.

Polito's Pizza Workshop

Late Night at Camp Thursday

Campers kick things off with a Y Day to get everyone moving and energized. The week includes time for swimming and enjoying the water (weather permitting), followed by an Explore Wausau adventure featuring the Wisconsin River Path and Cedar Creek Covered Bridge, plus a stop at Briq’s. Campers will also take part in a culinary experience at Polito’s and wrap up the day with a fun late-night activity. The week wraps up with a mix of biking, kayaking, and classic camp-based fun.

Wisconsin Dells

Camping at Devil’s Lake Overnight (August 11-14) 

Dive into this brand-new leadership trip opportunity to the Wisconsin Dells! Leadership will enjoy a 5-day, 4-night experience at Devil’s Lake State Park, where they will be able to hike and swim at one of Wisconsin’s most scenic landscapes. 

The highlight of this trip will be a day at Mount Olympus Water Park and a fun pass to the Indoor Attractions at the Wilderness Resort. As camp season winds down, campers are able to enjoy an action-packed week with good friends and amazing memories.

Rivers Edge Inflatable Water Park

Overnight at Camp Thursday

During our final week, campers kick things off with a Y Day, followed by time dedicated to swimming (weather permitting). The week features an Explore Wausau adventure with a visit to Doepke Park, a walk along the fitness trail, and a stop at Briq’s. Campers will enjoy the inflatable water park at Rivers Edge Campground, a Wausau Water Walkers show on Lake Du Bay, and overnight back at camp. The week wraps up with a fun-filled day of games and outdoor activities at camp.
