The Camp Sturtevant experience is an outstanding way to keep your child active and engaged throughout their summer break from school. Camp will give your child new skills, memories, values, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Kids need connections that are made at camp now more than ever…
with their peers, counselors, teen role models and the outdoor experience. 

Camp Sturtevant is a fun place filled with friendly people. The exciting activities draw them in, but the relationships formed at camp are why families come back year after year. We look forward to making new memories with your camper!

All of our staff members are at least 18 years old and undergo interviews, reference checks, and background checks. The pre-camp training includes activity training, safety training, behavior management, team building, and much more.

Day Camp Counselors

Woodson YMCA Camp Sturtevant is looking for Counselors to join our team this summer.

At Camp Sturtevant, Day Camp Counselors are responsible for implementing activities and crafts based on theme weeks with the support of Program Coordinators and Leadership Staff.

Being a Camp Counselor is a very rewarding job, you will play a big part in shaping the lives of our campers. Spend the summer in the sunshine while you develop teaching, coaching and leadership skills.

  • Applicants do need to be 18 at the time of June 3rd
  • Availability required late May through August
  • Monday-Friday: Full time hours with weekends off
  • Compensation starts at $500 - $600 per week!
