Pioneers are the youngest group of day campers located on-site at Camp Sturtevant.

“Pios” are introduced to the day camp experience with a variety of age appropriate activities.

Activities Include:

TRAILBLAZERS Ages 7-8

Trailblazers are introduced to some of Camp Sturtevant’s more intermediate programming areas.

PATHFINDERS Ages 9-12

Pathfinders are the eldest group of day campers. “Paths” lead the way and set an example for our younger day groups.

Pathfinders’ programs and experiences challenge each camper as they explore their personal development.

Our river swimming area is a shallow section of water that is a comfortable space for all swimmers. Certified lifeguards are always on duty during swimming and boating activities.

3...2...1...Blastoff to summer! Let’s kick off the summer fun by exploring all the great things we can do at Camp! Campers will play new games, learn new songs, and meet new friends in this great kick off to summer!

Week 2: June 12 - June 16
Sports Of All Sorts
Register by May 29

Channel your inner sports star and come together as a team to develop new skills for a variety of sports at the YMCA.

Week 3: June 19 - June 23
Lost in Space
Register by June 5

Shoot for the stars! Join us this week as we explore outer space with games and projects that are out of this world! One small step for your camper, one giant leap for the summer.

Week 4: June 26 - July 30
Art-Rageous
Register by June 12

Calling all creators, makers, designers, and painters! This week will have your artist diving into their imagination and creating masterpieces that will surpass even Van Gogh himself.

It’s the 4th of July! It’s time to party in the good ole’ USA! We’ll celebrate America’s birthday with flags, patriotic games, and craft projects! This week is all about RED, WHITE, & BLUE (and you!)

Beat the summer heat with wacky water fun! Come ready to enjoy water play, water games, and water balloons. Stay COOL!!!

Dino Diggers

Explore the Prehistoric times by digging for fossils and exploring dinosaurs’ habitats. Who knows, maybe you will even run into a T-Rex!

Week 10: August 7 - August 11
Nature Nurturers
Register by July 24

Campers will find themselves at eye level with insects, following in the footsteps of the creatures that call the outdoors their home and discovering what interesting art we can make from natural materials.

Week 11: August 14 - August 18
Superheroes
Register by July 31

Become a superhero during this adventure-filled week. Discover the hero in you through challenges and adventures. Grab your mask and capes!

Farewell Fun

Let’s end the summer with a week full of activities you LOVE as we say farewell to another amazing summer! Friday is Camp pride day! Dress in your favorite Camp Sturtevant gear!
