A FREE Cancer Survivor program
YMCA & LIVESTRONG
KEEP FIGHTING BACK
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors who have become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment.
The goal is to help patients build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Additional goals include reducing the severity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weight changes and improving energy levels and self-esteem.
A final goal of the program is to assist participants in developing their own physical fitness program so they can continue to practice a healthy lifestyle as a way of life.
What LIVESTRONG provides:
- Individualized Workouts
- Spirit of Community
- Increase Energy Levels
- Improve Body Image
- Regain Strength and Balance
- Reduce Stress
- Increase Immunity
Staff have been specially trained to work with cancer survivors to follow American College of Sports Medicine and American Cancer Society exercise guidelines. You will get individualized attention and an approach to recovery that targets the areas you need to rebuild.
Just as important, LIVESTRONG encourages a spirit of community, a comfortable place for you to build companionship with others affected by cancer and share stories and inspiration. Session will run with a minimum of 8 participants, maximum 12.
