Mini-Movers Classes

Parent & Child Classes Ages 1-4
Toddler & Preschool

Our classes are designed to introduce young children to the joy of movement through fun, age-appropriate activities inspired by gymnastics. Children will benefit from developing body awareness, coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as cognitive, social, and emotional skills during this crucial period of growth. We focus on nurturing the whole child while fostering a love for active play and healthy development.

A parent or adult is needed to aid the gymnast during class. We offer Gymnastics Classes throughout the year.

Preschool Open Gym is also a fun option to visit the Jr. Gymnastics gym with your child ages 2-5.

Jr. Gymnastics

Ages 4-6 | Co-Ed

Our Jr. program is designed specifically for preschoolers and kindergarteners, offering our progressive developmental gymnastics instruction in a calm, smaller gym environment. These classes focus on age-appropriate skill development, strength building, and confidence, using the same comprehensive curriculum as the older groups but tailored to younger athletes’ learning needs. This quieter, more personalized setting helps children concentrate better while receiving individual attention from coaches to foster body awareness, coordination, and a lifelong love of gymnastics.

A parent or adult is needed to aid the gymnast under age 5 in classes until they are ready to work independently.

We offer Gymnastics Classes throughout the year.

Developmental Gymnastics

Ages 7+ | Co-Ed

Our Gymnastics Skill Development Program offers a clear, age-appropriate pathway for athletes to grow in skill, strength, and confidence.

Gymnasts begin in Foundations to learn the fundamentals of bars, beam, floor, and vault, then advance to Skills & Progressions to refine techniques, build strength, and connect skills into sequences.

Those ready for higher challenges move into Advanced Skills to master complex skills and prepare for competitive-level training.

Classes are offered in two age groups with the same curriculum tailored for developmental needs.
• Jr. Gymnastics (ages 4–6)
• Developmental Gymnastics (7+)

From there, gymnasts may join Pre-Team to begin competition preparation or choose our Advanced Recreational Class for continued skill growth without the competitive commitment.

PreTeam

Whirlers Gymnastics Pre-Team

Woodson YMCA Pre-Competitive Gymnastics Program

Our Preteam program is an exciting step for gymnasts ready to deepen their skills and commitment. With twice-weekly, longer practices, athletes build strength, refine technique, and improve conditioning in a positive, team-focused environment. Gymnasts develop confidence, discipline, and friendships that last, all while preparing to transition smoothly into our Competitive Team. The program balances hard work with fun, culminating in an end-of-season exhibition where athletes proudly showcase their progress and celebrate their achievements with family and friends.
