(Ages 5 – 16 yrs.) Join us for a week or an entire summer at Day Camp Sturtevant! Camp is located off Northwestern Avenue on the Eau Claire River. During each week campers will have the opportunity to experience the outdoors Camp Sturtevant style. Day Camp programs are offered in Half Day options during the Summer School sessions or Full Day options during the entire summer break. Counselors are college age adults who have been selected and trained with special care in the areas of safety, child development, creativity and understanding of children. Camp Sturtevant staff act as positive adult role models for their campers.

Choose a program from the following groups:

(Ages 5-6)
Pioneers are the youngest group of day campers located on-site at Camp Sturtevant. Pios are introduced to the Camp Sturtevant day camp experience with a variety of age appropriate camp activities that include; boating, slingshots, arts and crafts, playgrounds, field games, sand castles, gnome hunts, nature lessons and hikes, and music. Daily activities include camp songs, skits, and swimming in the river (weather permitting). Our river swimming area has a shallow section of water and small water slide allotted specifically to the Pioneer age group. Certified lifeguards are always on duty during swimming times and boating activities.

(Ages 7-8)
Ages 7-8 make up our Trailblazer day camp group. Trailblazers are introduced to some of Camp Sturtevant’s more intermediate programming areas.  These activities include: canoeing, BB guns, archery, arts and crafts, gaga, field games, playgrounds, scavenger hunts, and nature lessons. Trailblazers also participate in daily camp songs, skits and swimming (weather permitting).

(Ages 9-13)
As our eldest group of day campers, Pathfinders lead the way and set an example for our younger day campers. Our Pathfinder experiences, programs, and activities challenge each camper as they explore their personal development in a caring, guided, outdoor environment. Pathfinders participate in some of Camp Sturtevant’s most advanced activity areas such as kayaking, BB guns, archery, low ropes, high ropes, ground level zip lines, gaga, biking, and field games. Pathfinders who have attended camp for many years also play a huge role in teaching our younger campers about traditions, camp songs and skits.

(Ages 5-13)
There is no better way to spend the afternoon than at Y Camp! This day camp option is for campers who are already enrolled in a Wausau School District or DC Everest School District summer school class. Parents must coordinate with their respective school districts directly on summer school enrollment. Once enrolled in a morning summer school class with one of the school districts, campers are eligible for this program option. After a morning full of learning in school, campers arrive at camp and are integrated into their respective age groups for afternoon activities. Weekly themes will follow those listed for the regular age group that your child is a part of. The program follows each respective school district’s summer school program calendars.
