Wausau Branch

Low Impact Karate

Ages 55+

This gentle, accessible martial arts program that focuses on technique, balance, and mindful movement rather than high-intensity or high-contact training. Participants learn traditional karate fundamentals—such as stances, blocks, punches, and controlled kicks—at a slower, more deliberate pace designed to be easy on the joints.

This class emphasizes coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental focus while reducing stress on the body. Movements are modified to accommodate different fitness levels, making it ideal for beginners, older adults, individuals recovering from injury, or anyone looking for a safe, supportive way to stay active.

Low Impact Karate builds confidence, improves posture and balance, and promotes overall wellness in a calm, encouraging environment—no prior martial arts experience required.
