Our Child Care team is passionate about building a better future for kids, families and the community. We offer childcare starting at 6 weeks old.
At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our child care programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other.
The Woodson YMCA has Child Care Centers at both location in Wausau & Weston.

Camp Sturtevant

GREAT SUMMERS START AT CAMP
Summer is a time for kids to be kids. YMCA Day Camps are the place to make every precious summer day a great one! At Camp Sturtevant we believe the framework of our youth is creating experiences that build character, confidence and friendship.
After a summer at Woodson YMCA Camp Sturtevant, children’s self-esteem will rise and they will be better prepared to return to school with confidence. Our Y Camp strives to instill the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into every activity, every day.
Camp Options by Age:
- Day & After School Camp: Ages 5–12
- Explorer Camp: Ages 10–14
- Leadership Camp: Ages 13–15

Mini Care
6 Weeks - 6 Years
Mini Care is included with our Family Membership!
Mini Care provides quality drop-in child care for your children, 6 weeks through 6 years, while you use the YMCA.
We’re the perfect place for your child to be safe and have fun while you participate in a class, workout, or go for a swim. Parents are required to stay in the building while utilizing Mini Care.
Drop-in care will be available for up to 2 hours at both Y branches.
