Learn your body composition (ratio of body fat to muscle) and
BMI (Body Mass Index) by having these tests performed by a
certified fitness specialist. You may schedule an appointment
by contacting either branch. 


Our Fitness Evaluation includes blood pressure and heart rate readings, height and weight, Body Mass Index, body composition, cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility.  This vital information is for everyone of all stages of fitness and all different ages from 5 to 90.


Our staff of therapists (Wausau Branch only) offer sessions in Swedish massage, deep tissue and sports therapy, neuro muscular/muscular release technique and hot stone massage. You will benefit from relaxation stress reduction and specialized therapy for repetitive use or sports-related muscular pain.  Schedule an appointment through our business desk at 715-845-2177. Personalized one-on-one nutrition counseling with our dietitian on staff can help you reach your goals whether you are trying to lose weight or enhance your athletic performance. In a 1-hour session, you will receive in-depth nutrient analysis of your current diet, structured meal plan based on your nutritional needs and detailed evidence-based nutrition instruction.  Call 715-841-1830 for more information.




The YMCA wants to improve the lives of those diagnosed by with all forms of diabetes. The goal of Managing Your Diabetes is to facilitate the knowledge, skill and techniques needed for proper self care and management in order to improve the overall quality of
life within a safe and supportive environment. This class will address the physical and emotional needs of each participant and will stress the importance of diet, nutrition and exercise in
maintaining a healthy body and regulating blood sugar levels.
Cost: $10- Members and $15 Non-Members

Reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes and gain tools for healthy living. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps those at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight in order to reduce their chances of developing the disease. This is a 12-month lifestyle behavior intervention with 16 core sessions followed by monthly maintenance sessions. The program is a life changer, with proven results. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. The goal is to help patients build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability.
