CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Health Care Provider Course
Instructs individuals with a duty to act the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies until more advanced medical personnel arrive to take over. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a person experiencing cardiac arrest. This course meets the needs for CNA, Nursing and Child Care Providers.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Health Care Provider Review
To review the material from the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer/Health Care Provider course with those who have a duty to act (professional rescuers and health care providers). Participants must bring own resuscitation mask and current textbook; current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider or equivalent certification. If you need to purchase a resuscitation mask and current textbook, contact Aquatic Director.

Lifeguard Training Course
The primary purpose of the Lifeguarding program is to train lifeguards to act with speed and confidence in emergency situations both in and out of the water. Topics include water rescue skills, surveillance and recognition, first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR AED and more. Participants receive the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond quickly to aquatic emergencies.
Prerequisites:  Must be 15 years of age; ability to swim 300 yards (100 front crawl with rhythmic breathing, 100 breaststroke and 100 of front crawl and breaststroke); and swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 9 ft., retrieve a 10-lb object, return to surface, swim 20 yards on back with both hands on the brick to the start point and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 min., 40 secs., treading water for two minutes.
All materials included. Certification issued upon successful completion of the course. *Course graduates 16 years of age and older are encouraged to apply for Y employment.*
