The Landing Activity Center
Operations/Development Director (Full time)– This engaging new position will manage the Woodson YMCA’s healthy aging/senior center, The Landing Activity Center. The director will be tasked with staff supervision and development, membership practices, program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management and financial practices. A strong working knowledge of healthy aging and a bachelor's degree in human services, business or social services preferred. Position will create policies that remove barriers and foster equity and inclusion for all, creating and managing programming for The Landing to accomplish YMCA goals. Senior Camp Counselor: Our programs are filled with fun, progressive activities that build confidence, and self-esteem for counselors and campers alike. Based out of two day camp sites, activities such as boating, archery, fishing, BB guns, crafts, and music, as well as special camp traditions, songs, and unique activities fill each day! Camp Sturtevant features beautiful lodges, nature trails, woodlands, and is located minutes from downtown Wausau along the scenic Eau Claire River. The Aspirus Day Camp site offers a Day Camp Pavilion, playing fields, activity areas, walking trails, and our Ranch Camp facilities.
TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE: Summer Camp runs Monday through Friday most weeks. Counselors for our Day Camp and Ranch Camp programs arrive around 7:15 am and are finished by 5:30 pm each day. View job duties/application
Junior Camp Counselor (Ages 14- 17): Willing to commit to at least 5 weeks of summer camp. Staff assist with boating, crafts, target sports, horses, and other activities in addition to aiding senior counselors, leading activity areas, and other duties as camp director sees fit. Please note that our Junior Counselor/Counselor in Training positions are volunteer positions and are not monetarily compensated. However, the experience as a Junior Staff member is valuable on-the-job experience and previous Junior Counselors/Counselors in Training receive first consideration for Senior Staff positions once they turn 18 years old.

Child Care/ Mini Care
Child Care Center Director (Full Time): This position develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care programs. Candidate must have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood education or related field or optional equivalence and two years of supervisory experience. The ideal candidate must have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related child care credential and be enthusiastic about supporting child care programs and our families. Wage rate is $11- $13/hour depending on experience/education.
Sub-Float Teacher (Part Time): We have openings for teachers looking to sub in our child care at both Y locations. Looking for a great teacher who cares deeply about our children. Hours would vary by week, flexible scheduling.
Membership/ Front Line Desk
NIGHT CUSTODIAN (Part-time): We are now hiring evening custodians for our Wausau Branch. Job duties include stocking supplies, maintenance of all cleaning equipment and machinery, cleaning all areas assigned by supervisor and general maintenance of facilities. The shift is 6 pm- 10 pm weekdays and/or weekends, 8 to 16 hours a week. YMCA membership access provided. Starting wage is $10/hour. Seasonal Maintenance (Part-time): We are hiring for help with various building maintenance needs. Duties would include: mowing, painting and other maintenance approximately 30- 40 hours a week, from June through August. Training is provided. The preferred candidate will be proactive, detail oriented and responsible. Wage is $9/hour. Lifeguards (Aspirus, Wausau, and Mosinee): Bring your abilities and energy to work at the Y and be part of meaningful work as a YMCA lifeguard. We are your place for rewarding work that looks great on a resume! We have openings for lifeguards who complete our American Red Cross Certification courses or who are previously certified. Ages 15 and over. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours are available. Hours are flexible and can fit any schedule. Starting pay is $9.25/hour. Individuals who are not certified as lifeguards are encouraged to stop by a Member Service Desk to register for our next lifeguard course.
Swim Instructors (Part-time): We have openings for swim instructors at the Aspirus Branch. Morning, evening, and weekend hours are available. We will provide on the job training we are just looking for enthusiastic adults that have experience working with children and like to be in the water. Starting pay for swim instructors is $9.75.
