While still working to protect youth in the YMCA, our facilities will adopt the new recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on masking. For those who are fully vaccinated, face masks will no longer be required in our Y facilities effective June 1, 2021.
Individuals will be expected to use the honor system and abide by the Y’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

New Facility Guidelines:

  1. Masks will become optional in all areas for fully-vaccinated individuals, starting June 1st.
  2. Members and staff who are not fully vaccinated should continue wearing masks to respect the health and safety of others in all areas, unless designated (ie. In the pool.) See CDC Guidance here.
  3. Children ages 5-11 should continue wearing masks.

Changing the policy on June 1 will allow for adequate time for youth, ages 12-15, now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

We appreciate the care you’ve already shown in working together to keep our Ys safe places for all. With your cooperation, the Woodson YMCA has been a community leader in preventing the spread of coronavirus.

For children and families in Woodson YMCA Child Care and Camp programs, masking will be required as long as mandated by state DCF licensing requirements.

In the event the COVID-19 status in the community changes, we will respond appropriately.

Thank you for your cooperation,

WOODSON YMCA Staff & Operating Board
