Junior Gymnastics Classes
Toddler | Preschool | Kindergarten

A parent or adult are needed to aid the gymnast during class.

Classes start as early as they start walking to 6 Years

All classes will be held in the Jr. Gymnastics Training Center at the Wausau Branch lower level.
  • Preschool classes will need one parent or adult to aid the gymnast during class.
  • Your child will play and learn in a safe and secure environment.
  • Instructors will direct children through activities that develop gross motor skills, improve listening skills, and accommodate short attention spans.
  • Children have FUN learning basic gymnastics skills on vault, balance beam, floor exercise, kinderbars and kindertrampoline while interacting with instructors and new friends.
  • Small class sizes allow for individualized instruction for each child's skill level.

Stage A: Discovery Tots

•  Parent and Child Class

Fee: Members $48 | Non-members $68

Parents work with their children to explore, climb and socialize in a safe and fun environment. Children will develop gross motor skills while being directed in various activities and movements.

Parents work with their children through a structured lesson helping to build their self confidence as a mover. Children will enhance coordination, poise and agility while learning age appropriate gymnastics skills.

Parents work with their children through a structured lesson to improve their body awareness and increase self confidence in a safe environment. Children will have fun while learning basic gymnastics skills on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and bars.

Parents work with their children through a structured lesson on balance beam, vault, floor exercise, trampoline & bars. Gymnasts will have fun learning basic gymnastics skills and fundamentals in a safe and fun environment. Jr. Gymnasts will take the same Stage several times until they have mastered the skills to move up.

  • Parent watches as child practices independantly

‚ÄčFee: Members $62 | Non-members $82

Successful completion of Jr. Gymnastics 1 or previous enrollment in Gymtricks to continue to Jr. Gymnastics 2. Parents watch their children as they practice their skills on the balance beam, vault, floor exercise, trampoline and bars. Gymnasts will be continuing to learn basic gymnastics skills, fundamentals and body awareness in a safe a fun environment.

Stage E – Jr. Gymnastics 2 (4-5)

Gymnastics General Information

  • All Gymnastics classes and camps are held at the Wausau Branch.
  • The YMCA reserves the right to cancel or combine classes due to low enrollment.
  • Scholarships are available for those who qualify. 
  • Gymnastics placement is based on ability and maturity rather than age.
  • Age is used as a guideline.
  • Refunds/Credits will not be issued because of inclement weather or personal schedule conflicts or illness.
  • There is a 15-minute transition/sanitizing between classes.
  • Gymnasts/Parents will sanitize upon entering gymnastics centers.
  • During Junior Gymnastic Classes gymnast must stay with parent/adult throughout class to help maintain distancing.
