INVEST IN YOUTH CAMPAIGN
The YMCA has been building strong kids, strong families and strong communities for over 114 years. Providing kids with the experiences they need to grow into successful adults is at the heart of the YMCA Invest in Youth Campaign. A contribution to the annual Invest in Youth Campaign will help provide scholarships for youth enrichment programs including youth membership, camp, pre-school, and sports for low-income children in Wausau and all surrounding areas. Only by working together can we give more community members the opportunity to grow strong in spirit, mind and body. Make a difference in a child's life today by calling Kathy Peterson at (715)845-2177, Ext. 110 or by sending your tax deductible contribution to: Woodson YMCA, Invest in Youth Campaign, 707 Third Street, Wausau, WI 54403.
HERITAGE CLUB ENDOWMENT FUND
The Heritage Club of the Woodson YMCA provides a system to fund important YMCA programs that require a subsidy. It is there to endow essential programs for "at risk" youth and families and to protect the YMCA legacy.
The new federal Pension Protection Act of 2006 provides a tax-free avenue for those 70 1/2 years of age or older who wish to transfer contributions from their IRA account directly to the YMCA. By going directly to charity, this money is not included in the IRA owner's income and -- most importantly -- is not taxed, preserving the full amount for charitable purposes. This opportunity, however, will close in 2007 unless Congress extends it. If you are interested in establishing a permanent legacy for the YMCA, this is an opportunity of a lifetime to make the gift of a lifetime.
Please contact Tom Jackson, Executive Director, to discuss your estate planning and Heritage Club investment opportunities.
